Video Contest Rules

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality invites Texas students enrolled in grades 6–12 to participate in the Take Care of Texas Video Contest. Contest videos entries are accepted from September to December. 

To enter, students must create a 30-second video that portrays positive ways Texans can Take Care of Texas, such as help keep our air clean, keep our water clean, conserve water, save energy, or reduce waste. 

There will be a total of six big winners! Waste Management of Texas Inc. will provide the prizes to the top three videos from middle school (grades 6–8) and high school (grades 9–12) students. TCEQ Commissioners and representatives from Waste Management of Texas, Inc. will recognize the middle- and high school students who win first place will be honored at the Texas Environmental Excellence Awards Banquet in May. 

Contest rules and dates may be changed at TCEQ’s sole discretion.
