Local student named grand prize winner in Take Care of Texas Kids Art Contest!

A 2nd grade student at Walker Station Elementary in Sugar Land has been named the grand prize winner in a statewide art contest.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s Take Care of Texas program announced on Monday the winners of its sixth-annual K-5 art contest. Students were asked to submit artwork demonstrating how they help keep the air and water clean, conserve water and energy, and reduce waste. The grand prize winner will receive a laptop computer and her teacher will receive a tablet computer. The fifteen regional winners will also receive a tablet. The prizes were donated by the Texas Chemical Council.
Staff at each TCEQ regional office selected winners from each of the regions’ qualifying entries. The winning art pieces will be showcased on the Take Care of Texas and TCEQ websites, newsletters and social media.
