Texans encouraged to join Rogers & Bowen by taking the pledge
Take Care of Texas, a program of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, has tapped Texas country music mainstays Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen to perform a public service announcement that will air on Texas TV stations and social media platforms beginning today.
Texans are encouraged to join the musical duo by pledging their support to Take Care of Texas through conserving water and energy, keeping the air and water clean, and reducing waste.
The native Texans—Rogers of Cleburne and Bowen of Waco—have racked up countless career milestones individually. Together, the pair shares two decades of friendship and collaboration. On May 8, they released their latest studio album, a long-awaited follow up to their critically acclaimed collaborative debut.
“Take Care of Texas is important to us, because we have kids,” Rogers said. “Those kids are going to inherit our beautiful state one day.”
“We’re lucky to live in a state that has so much pride in everything Texan,” Bowen added. “This is just more of that—us trying to show our pride for our state, our love for our state.”
Take Care of Texas is a statewide campaign from TCEQ that provides helpful information on Texas’ successes in environmental protection and encourages all Texans to help keep our air and water clean, conserve water and energy, and reduce waste.
The PSA, as well as four short, behind-the-scenes interview clips with Rogers and Bowen can be viewed on TCEQ’s YouTube channel. The spot will air statewide throughout the summer.
