Ella’s video was a Finalist in the 9th through 12th grade age bracket of the Take Care of Texas Video Contest this season.
Many Texas students worked hard to produce creative videos for the contest. The videos covered a range of topics such as tips to save energy, ways to save water, the importance of clean air and water, recycling and reducing trash, and more!
The contest runs in the fall each year. Learn more on our Video Contest webpage.
Ella’s video follows the director playing a Wild West sheriff wrangling up natural resources in Texas, specifically rainwater. Her video points out how much water is used outdoors per household, and how much rainwater we can collect from rooftops to meet this need. She also lists the benefits of rainwater while using a gardening hose to lasso a rain barrel. Ella does a great job highlighting a natural resource that is often overlooked by households, with a Texas-twist. Her message shows the benefits of rainwater and how it can help meet our water needs in Texas.
