Moises’ video won 3rd place in the 6th through 8th grade age bracket of the Take Care of Texas Video Contest. She won a GoPro camera package, provided by the contest partner, Waste Management of Texas, Inc.
Many Texas students worked hard to produce creative videos for the contest. The videos covered a range of topics such as tips to save energy, ways to save water, the importance of clean air and water, recycling and reducing trash, and more!
The contest runs in the fall each year. Learn more on our Video Contest webpage.
Moises’ video uses action figures and stop-motion animation to highlight litter prevention. A litter bug action figure carelessly drops a water bottle, but the hero, "General Green,” saves the day. General Green says, “Never throw away a chance to recycle!” and points out the three R’s of reduce, reuse, and recycle when he properly disposes of the water bottle. His message is that you can make a difference and be a real action hero.
