The Take Care of Texas Video Contest is a fun way for young people to learn about protecting the environment and come up with creative ways to share this knowledge with others! Students film a 30-second video that shows positive ways to Take Care of Texas. The students that submit the best videos can win great prizes, awarded by the contest sponsor, Waste Management of Texas, Inc.
9-12 Grade Students
Can Win Scholarships!
1st Place: $2,500 Scholarship
2nd Place: $1,500 Scholarship
3rd Place: $500 Scholarship
6-8 Grade Students
Can Win GoPro Cameras and Accessories!
1st Place: GoPro HERO5 Black Package (approximate value $840)
2nd Place: GoPro HERO5 Session Package (approximate value $580)
3rd Place: GoPro HERO Session Package (approximate value $430)
The middle and high school students who win first place will be invited to travel to Austin, along with their teacher, parent, or guardian, to be recognized by the TCEQ Commissioners and representatives from Waste Management of Texas, Inc. at the 2018 Environmental Trade Fair and Conference.
The contest opens Sept. 5, 2017 and closes on Dec. 15, 2017. Entries must be postmarked on or before Dec. 15. Please account for the busy holiday mailing season when mailing your entry.
