Grammy-award winner Rick Trevino voices Take Care of Texas public service announcements
(MEDIA: Public service announcements are available for download.)The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s Take Care of Texas program today announced that Grammy-award winner Rick Trevino will join country music star Kevin Fowler as the voice of its successful radio and television public service announcements. Trevino’s announcements will be heard in both English and Spanish on radio and TV stations across Texas, starting May 11.
“We are very happy to have Rick be a part of our Take Care of Texas message,” said TCEQ Commissioner Zak Covar. “He’s a native Texan with a passion for the outdoors and protecting the state’s natural resources. You might spot him boating out on Lake Travis, at his daughter’s soccer match, or out with his son on the motocross track.”
The agency’s Take Care of Texas program encourages personal responsibility for the state’s environment, with conservation tips for the home, office and outdoors. Texans are asked to take the pledge to support this effort at TakeCareofTexas.org.
The addition of Rick Trevino’s Spanish-language announcements will allow the campaign to broaden its reach to a Hispanic audience. In light of the state’s changing demographics, the Take Care of Texas program has also expanded its Spanish website, CuideATexas.org, which mirrors its popular English-language site, TakeCareOfTexas.org.
