The EPA is currently accepting proposals for environmental education projects and expects to award three to four grants in EPA Region 6, which includes Texas and several other states. The grants can range from $50,000 to $100,000. Proposals are due March 15, 2018. Texans interested in applying should refer to the RFP for Region 6.

Through this grant program, EPA intends to provide financial support for projects that design, demonstrate, and/or disseminate environmental education practices, methods, or techniques, that will serve to increase environmental and conservation literacy and encourage behavior that will benefit the environment. In addition to other environmental topics, the program includes support for projects that reflect the intersection of environmental issues with agricultural best-practices, conservation of natural resources, food waste management, and natural disaster preparedness.

Nationally, the EPA will award up to $3 million, for a total of 30 to 35 grants. You can read the full announcement for more details and get background information on environmental education grants.
